Stacking with your own discounts
Gifts are set to combine with your existing product, order and shipping discounts. What that means for your margin.
Flip to Win’s gifts are configured to combine with your own discounts: product discounts, order discounts and shipping discounts all stack with them.
What that means in practice
If you are running a 20% sitewide sale and a shopper plays the game and collects “10% off”, they get both. If they collect a free product, that product is free and the rest of the order still has your sale applied.
This is the right default, because the alternative is worse: a gift that silently cancels your sale makes the shopper feel cheated at exactly the moment you wanted them to feel rewarded.
What it means for your margin
Stack the numbers before you launch. A 20% sitewide sale plus a 10% game gift plus free shipping is a real cost, and it is easy to arrive at it by accident because the two promotions were set up by different people on different days.
The dashboard’s revenue per $1 of gifts figure is there for exactly this: it tells you whether the trade is working. See Every metric defined.
Turning stacking off
There is no toggle in the app today. If your margin cannot support stacking, the lever you have is the gift itself: offer a smaller gift, or pause the game while a heavy sitewide sale is running.
If a stacking control would be useful to you, tell us. It is a small change and demand decides whether it gets built.
Shopify’s own limits still apply
Shopify has platform-level rules about how many discounts of each class can apply to one order. Where those conflict, Shopify decides, not us.
