Publish failed: a gift is unavailable
A free-product gift is not purchasable, so publishing is refused rather than shipping a broken funnel.
The app refuses to publish when a free-product gift could not actually be added to a shopper’s cart. The message names the product and the exact problem.
”… is draft” or ”… is archived”
The product is not Active in Shopify. Open it in Products and set its status to Active.
”… is out of stock and doesn’t allow overselling”
The variant tracks inventory, is set to stop selling when it runs out, and is at zero. Three ways to fix it:
- Restock it.
- On the variant, turn on Continue selling when out of stock. Sensible for a low-value gift you can always fulfil.
- Pick a different product as the gift.
“A prize product no longer exists”
The variant was deleted in Shopify. Pick a different product.
Why publishing is blocked instead of warned
The shopper’s browser adds the gift line to the cart itself. If Shopify rejects that line the failure is silent: the shopper sees their gifts on the board, arrives at the product page, and the gifts are simply not there. Nothing on screen tells them, and nothing tells you. Blocking the publish is the only place that failure is visible.
If a live campaign hits this
The same check runs when you save a campaign that is already live, and when a gift becomes unavailable later. The campaign is paused, traffic is sent straight to the destination product page, and you get an email naming the gift. Fix the product, then publish again.
