Publish failed: blocked words in your copy
The compliance check found chance language. It names every field and word.
The app blocks a short list of words in shopper-facing copy. The error names each field and each word it found.
The list
win, winner, winning, chance, chances, lottery, sweepstake, sweepstakes, raffle, jackpot, lucky draw, prize draw.
Where it checks
Headline, subheading, progress text, button text, and every gift label and description. Anything a shopper reads.
Why
Every shopper gets the same gifts. Nothing is drawn or random. Describing it with chance words makes a factually false claim about a promotion, which is what prize-promotion law is written to catch, and it is what an app reviewer will flag.
Rewrites that work
| Instead of | Use |
|---|---|
| You won! | Unlocked |
| Win a free gift | Your free gift |
| 3 chances to win | 3 gifts to reveal |
| Lucky draw | Gift reveal |
“But the app is called Flip to Win”
Our brand name is our own commercial speech and appears in the admin and on our marketing site. It is never in the default shopper-facing copy, and the check applies to your copy on your storefront, where the claim is about your promotion.
